Sophie & Paul – Married at Botleys Mansion – Classic Whites
Sophie and Paul got married at Botleys Mansion and had the most amazing weather for an October wedding. The sun was truly shining on this beautiful wedding at Botleys, and it was such a classic style that will never date, that I really wanted to share this on the journal.
I loved this wedding so much because it was just pure understated elegance, nothing overdone, everything was so considered, balanced and enough to dress the spaces, but the flowers really worked to create a truly timeless look and all the important areas were taken care off with lots of attention to detail. So while getting married at Botleys might make you think that you need to really overdo it on flowers, because it is such a grand venue, I wanted to showcase this example to paint the opposite picture. Careful repurposing of all the arrangements and bouquets made it all so impactful without being wasteful with budget on flowers.
Sophie chose an elegant classic bouquet of nearly white (or as white as they come in the world of fresh flowers) Alpes D’Huez roses with delicate scattering of lacy gypsophila and subtle pops of dark green foliage tips, while the bridesmaids carried pure and dreamy hydrangeas and lacy gypsophila bouquets. Paul and his ushers and the dads all wore classic Alpes D’Huez rose buttonholes.
Sophie and Paul got married at Botleys Mansion’s elegant Georgian style Green Room, and the wedding breakfast was in the beautiful Atrium downstairs. Guests were welcome into the venue with a stunning tall table centrepiece on the feature table in the grand entrance hall, surrounded by elegant candlelit vases. Two matching grander vase centrepieces were used to flank Sophie and Paul during the wedding ceremony, creating the all important backdrop for the I-Do’s. The ceremony table and the mantlepiece were all dressed with pretty vases of hydrangeas and gypsophila, which were later reused to create low table centrepieces on some of the guest tables. The rest of the tables were dressed with the tall dramatic vase centrepieces from the hallway and ceremony room.
And finally, the cake, supplied by Gorgeous Gem’s Bakery, was styled with beautiful fresh flowers cake cluster corsages.
The stunning photography was captured by the wonderful Lucie Watson Photography which I was simply in awe of after seeing the work for Sophie and Pau;’s wedding.
