Pretty blush pink summer wedding
The beautiful hill-top Pembroke Lodge is a charming stately house venue situated at the heart of the amazing Richmond Park. A unique venue overlooking the beautiful outskirts of Richmond, with views of the nearby Thames river and far further, it is a firm favourite of mine.
Mary & Jack booked us to arrange the flowers for their beautiful summer wedding in the Belvedere Suite on the ground floor. The light and airy Belvedere Suite is the perfect setting for any colour scheme, and the unique roof lantern spanning the entire length of the ceremony aisle and letting lots of light in for most of the day during the summer, created a gorgeously light feel to the whole wedding.
Mary & Jack are a fantastic couple and their adorable young boy was the star of the day (besides Jack), and was so well behaved during the day. I’m lucky to have received the professional photo album from the wedding, and in every single photo of him, he looks perfectly happy and contented and quite OK with stealing the limelight from mum & dad.
Mary was super keen to use lovely scented peonies in her bouquet, and luckily the wedding was in the middle of the fairly narrow peony season, so it was our real pleasure to oblige – we love working with peonies, their smell is always so beautiful and evocative. For the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, we also added some pretty amazing O’Hara garden roses which (I know it’s hard to imagine but it’s true), have an even more dreamy fragrance than the peonies. So the bouquets were just a joy to have and to hold. Mary’s lovely bouquet looked fabulous against her fitted lacy dress and we loved the drop straps and the flick trail of the dress, so elegant.
For the ceremony, we created a gorgeous structural focal arch around the window behind the ceremony area – it was so lovely and created such a beautiful backdrop that little else was needed to make the room look beautiful. So we dressed the ceremony table with 2 low & blousy centrepieces with scented peonies, roses, pretty spray roses and eucalyptus, which were later reused on guest tables. 2 blossom trees were used at the back of the wedding aisle, and 2 chair posies added a lovely bit of contrast on the white chiavari bride & groom chairs. The whole look was beautifully light, gorgeously girly, and picture perfect and so pretty!
After some time out for photos in the beautiful gardens around the lodge, the newlyweds took their seats at the top table, which was nicely dressed with the bridesmaids bouquets – such a simple and elegant use for these, and great for keeping them alive and well hydrated so that they can be enjoyed a little longer at home after the wedding. We simply put them in vases with water lined up along the length of the table, ready for the bouquets to be placed in them after the wedding photos.
All the ladies later gathered for the throwing of the bridal bouquet, and I was relieved to see that the athletics to catch it didn’t get too out of hand.
We had a lovely email the very next day from Mary, full of happy exclamation marks, and we were so delighted with the reaction: “Hey team, I just wanted to email and say a massive thank you for all of the flowers on Sunday! They were absolutely incredible, I honestly can’t explain how pleased I was! The venue flowers looked absolute amazing, I can’t thank you enough! You’ve done such an incredible job! “
I hope you agree…
