Colour-Bomb Summer Wedding at Pembroke Lodge
I spoke to our colourful bride Petrece around 3 months before the wedding and she had already thought of all the smaller petals for her wedding but was in somewhat of a panic about the flowers as it was the last thing on her list. Petrece & Mark had chosen The Belvedere Suite at Pembroke because it created such a beautiful neutral canvas for their bright summer colour scheme, and because the oak pavilion area had al the stunning natural scenery where the colours would naturally shine.
Petrece truly embraced the summer brights colour palette in all of her other venue decor – she had already created a beautiful and bold photo backdrop for one of the large windows in the Belvedere, with draping layers of coloured strips and colourful balloons, and had sorted out beautiful coloured glasses for the wedding, and had even created pale apricot curtains to drape along the 5 patio windows overlooking the terrace. On the morning of her wedding, close friends and family had arrived like a well oiled SAS wedding task force, to set up and sort out all the finer details. With lots of help on hand, all the little jobs were quickly done. The most touching detail was the beautiful table name frames which each held a story about Petrece and Mark’s journey to their wedding day.
Big on Petrece’s wish list was lots of bold colours, in pillar box red, apricot, coral and pinky coral, bright pinks and peachy blush. We ticked that list with lots of lovely roses, the hugest Coral Charm peonies ever, and lots of other colourful blooms, all offset with gorgeous mediterranean sage green eucalyptus and olive.
Petrece and her bridesmaids carried matching bouquets of colourful roses, peonies and coral berries, and for Petrece, we created a beautiful floral circlet. The men wore different coloured rose buttonholes with pretty hypericum berries, to match their ties. The oak pavilion was dressed with two amazingly grand final urns, bursting with beautiful uplifting summer colour, and the aisle chairs were dressed with gorgeous flower posies. Two lovely dusty pink vases of flowers decorated the ceremony table and low vases of roses and peonies dressed all remaining guest tables. Petrece had found some really beautiful cut glass effect glasses for the tables, and mixed colours between tables to add a really elegant touch.
It was a real pleasure to be part of this joyous explosion of happy colours, and to meet Petrece’s lovely family and friends during the set up. The whole day had just such happy vibes and we loved the little personal touches that Petrece had stamped on all aspects of her wedding day. The details truly do matter and Petrece had ticked them all off beautifully.
