Wentworth Golf Club wedding flowers – gorgeous and scented

Amanda & Conrad’s beautiful Wentworth Golf Club wedding flowers

When I met with Amanda and Conrad to talk about their plans for their Wentworth Golf Club wedding flowers I never would have dreamt that the final colour choice for their flowers were going to be so different from what we initially spoke about.  Amanda had planned on very neutral decor to suit her bridesmaids bronzy gold dresses and the decor at Wentworth.  However, all was not well in the world of bridesmaids outfits and Amanda had a last minute change of colour scheme just a few weeks before the wedding. With the bridesmaids dresses now being a deep raspberry claret, and the chair sashes in bronzy gold, my challenge was to come up with a colour pallete which complemented both these elements as well as the decor at Wentworth.  I blended lots of colours together and I think the result was really successful, making a nice gradual transition between the deep pinky claret and the warmer golds.  For Amanda’s and the bridesmaids bouquets, we used amazingly scented David Austin roses.  Amanda opted for tall displays on all the tables, to suit the very grand ballroom with a very high ceiling. I totally loved their cake, though I didn’t initially notice that the sugar cake topper was figures of Amanda and Conrad themselves, with Amanda dragging him down the aisle… Well, I had been awake since 5 am, so my sense of observation was understandably not at its best.  Much improved after the lovely Wentworth banqueting team plied me with some coffee! Thank you!
