Planning the wedding flowers for this beautiful summer wedding at Wentworth was a real joy! I was really looking forward to these WOW-factor Wentworth wedding flowers, as this wedding was all about combining beautiful colours with dramatic glamorous crystal candelabra centrepieces. The ballroom at Wentworth always looks so glam with a touch of sparkle catching the light under the amazing down-lighters…
When I met with Danielle and Stephen, they had chosen a wonderful lilac colour scheme for their bridesmaids dresses but wanted to inject a splash more bright colours to the wedding flowers designs, for a happy and summery look. They also wanted to take full advantage of the beautiful lighting effects that Wentworth can offer, and introduce a touch of glamour to the wedding table centrepieces, without going for an OTT look. I suggested our glamorous crystal candelabras, with delicate flower centrepieces at the top, and, to catch the light and sparkle even more, they were adorned with lovely draping crystals. The whole effect at Wentworth looked magical. But even more amazing, were Danielle and her bridesmaids bouquets, all using a lovely mix of classic English summer flowers – roses, lisianthus, freesias, veronica, gypsophila.
The wedding ceremony took place at Royal Holloway in the wonderful chapel with its amazing vaulted, beautifully painted ceiling. As the chapel is so ornate, Danielle and Stephen chose to focus on the area at the front of the chapel, where they would be standing during the ceremony. They were framed by two tall pedestal displays, and we designed a lovely long & low centrepiece to dress the altar, later on to be moved to Wentworth and grace the long formal top table. Danielle looked amazing in her fitted lace dress and the dainty flowers in her tear drop bouquet, perfectly suited the lovely texture of the dress.
The wedding reception took place at Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey. The Ballroom at Wentworth is so high ceilinged that low table centrepieces fail to make much impact, so Danielle and Stephen opted for elegant tall crystal candelabra centrepieces with flower displays at the top, with a lovely and delicate mixture of roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus, veronica and dreamy gypsophila. Crystal strands were added, draping down from the candelabra, to add even more sparkle under the beautiful downlighting effect. The top table itself was dressed with a central long & low centrepiece coming over from the chapel altar, and this was framed by the bridesmaids bouquets on either side. The beautiful 4 tiered cake was dressed with real flowers.
