Beautiful burgundy & gold wedding at Great Fosters

Amanda and Russ’ burgundy & gold winter wedding

This gorgeous winter wedding had a wintery mix of lighter colours with burgundy & gold wedding accents.  Amanda wanted to avoid this looking too Christmassy so the burgundy was kept in check and blended with lighter shades and gold props to add lightness and warmth.   So pleased to be able to share these beautiful photos of Amanda & Russ’ wedding day at Great Fosters, with special thanks to the very talented Murray Clarke.

Amanda and Russ wanted a very organic feel to their wedding day flowers and from the very first planning meeting, we were guided by the designs of the floral stationery designs, with blousy blends of ivory, hint of blush, vintage pinks, burgundy splashes and antique gold.

Amanda and Russell held their whole wedding day at the beautiful Great Fosters, a venue which we love through and through and have been working with for over 10 years.  The venue has a wealth of character, from the beautiful courtyard and formal gardens, through the stunningly light Orangery for the ceremony, to the Tudor Tithe barn for the reception.

Amanda’s and her bridesmaids bouquets, were beautifully organic, with a mix of Mediterranean style eucalyptus and olive foliage, ivory, cream, vintage pink and burgundy roses, burgundy spider chrysanthemums, thistles and deep navy viburnum berries, and caramel dianthus. Amanda looked absolutely amazing in her bridal dress and the textural bouquet looked perfect against it, and the matching bridesmaids bouquets looked fabulous against the bridesmaids burgundy floor length dresses. Russ and his merry men all wore rustic buttonholes of burgundy spray roses, thistles and vibernum berries.

The ceremony room was dressed simply with 4 tall floral candelabra centrepieces at the start and end of the ceremony aisle, pretty chair side flowers, lanterns and rose petals down the aisle. Throughout, the burgundy & gold added as a splash here and there added just the right amount of winter charm without it tasing on a predictable red and gold Christmassy theme.   The ceremony table was dressed with boho flower bouquets in antique gold vases, and we added gold candlesticks and votives.

For the wedding breakfast and reception in the Tithe Barn, the guest tables are dressed with more of the same beautiful tall candelabra displays, while the long top table was styled with a beautiful rustic foliage garland, weaving in and out around the vases of flowers and candleholders from the ceremony table.  At the base of the top table we used our gorgeous new gold geometric lanterns.  The effect was beautiful, understated and natural, and really in keeping with the Tudor barn setting.

I hope you enjoy these beautiful photos… If you are planning your wedding at Great Fosters, please take a look at our many other featured Great Fosters weddings to get some inspiration of how to dress this beautiful venue.
