Bernie & Carlos’ destination autumn wedding – Pembroke Lodge
With family in the UK and The Philippines, Bernadette, or Bernie as she much preferred, & Carlos chose an autumn wedding at Pembroke Lodge to get all their nearest and dearest together. We planned the wedding remotely with the help of Pinterest, sharing stationery designs, and emails to develop the colour blend and style. B&C were an absolute dream of a couple to work with, and they were really enchanted by the idea of an autumn wedding, echoing the turning of the leaves, nature’s vibrant hues, and the rich palette of colours that the season naturally offers. As we got closer to the wedding day, we realised that this might turn out to be an unusually warm early October and we quickly adapted our plans to work equally well outside, should the sun shine brightly that day. And OMG, it did, it was literally like a summer’s day, much to everyone’s delight.
Bernie looked amazing in a halter neck trouser suit and loved her autumnal bridal bouquet bursting with deep burgundy, rustic oranges , earthy browns and elegant contrasting navy blue accents. Carlos and his son wore matching buttonholes in deep orange, with reddish accents and a dash of thistle blue to match the suits, and we created a dainty corsage for Bernie’s mum in the same beautiful colours. These captivating hues are the hallmark of the season and served as the perfect beautiful backdrop for an outdoor wedding filled with warmth and love.
We created 2 amazing tall displays to stand in front of the Belvedere Suite pavilion, and used some of the rose bowls table centrepieces to dress the ceremony table. The aisle was beautifully dressed with autumnal chair posies on every other row end, alternating with our elegant gold lanterns down on the floor. We advised B&C to opt for Host With Style’s beautiful and elegant gold Spencer chairs to match the opulent and rich colour scheme. and the result was really stunning. Under the warm autumn sun the colours absolutely sang and created the perfect backdrop for the outdoor wedding ceremony. Close family and friends read at the ceremony and love was very much in the air, along with 2 gorgeous doves released into the autumn sky! What’s not to love?!!!
Inside the Belvedere, the displays from the base of the tall focal ceremony displays were later reused to dress the ends of the sweetheart top table and the bridal bouquet was used in the middle of the table after the photos session, Two of the round guest tables were then dressed with the 2 tall geometric stands ceremony displays, to add a big wow to the central guest tables, while the rest the rest of the guest tables were dressed with gorgeous rose bowls bursting with autumn hues. We used roses, spray roses, layered chrysanthemums, snapdragons, thistles, berries and rosehips , thistles and dark oak, to create a texture as rich as the colours.
Finally, we added lots of candlelight with our elegant gold taper candlesticks, and matching gold votives, and dressed the draped windows with flowers posies and trailing ruscus foliage.
The beautiful photography in this post is thanks to amazing David at Married To My Camera, whose photography I absolutely adore! The other suppliers to note are the lovely Host With Style who provided the elegant gold chairs and the window drapery ready for us to dress with flowers.
