Elegant white winter wedding flowers at Great Fosters
Alison and Geoff’s elegant white winter wedding at Holy Trinity Church in Lyne followed by their reception at Great Fosters, was the perfect end to 2019. It was a joy to be part of their wedding day and it meant the world to me to be asked to arrange their flowers, having met Alison when I arranged her sister’s wedding flowers a few years ago.
Alison opted for a classic white hand-tied bouquet of Avalanche roses, spray roses, nearly black viburnum berries and silvery green eucalyptus, with slightly smaller versions for the bridesmaids and flower girls. They wore very very dark navy dresses, so the nearly black vibernum berries subtly echoed the dresses. The viburnum berries were also used to add a touch of dark navy to the mens rose buttonholes.
The wedding reception took place in the beautiful Holy Trinity Church in Lyne & Longcross, in Surrey. We decorated the church with classic white winter wedding flowers including many popular wedding blooms that are available throughout the year. The focal backdrop was provided by two statement focal centrepieces of tall gladiola, lots of hydrangeas, roses, spray roses and lisianthus, and we also dressed the church pew ends with pretty posies of roses, spray roses and viburnum berries.
The wedding reception was held in the atmospheric Tithe Barn at Great Fosters, which looked beautiful with all the candlelit centrepieces of white winter wedding flowers. For the centre of the tithe barn, Alison and Geoff opted for elegant silver candelabra centrepieces, with the church pew end posies placed at the base of the candelabras. The tables under the eaves were dressed with candlelit floral wreaths, and finally, the long top table was dressed with a series of flower posies and sprigs of flowers in vintage silver bottles.
The overall effect was beautiful, timeless and really elegant, and was a real high note at the end of the year – a beautiful wedding concluding a busy yer full of many more beautiful weddings.
