Great Fosters wedding open day – beautiful wedding flowers and wedding ideas

Looking fab at Great Fosters wedding open day – spring 2014

We were delighted to dress the lovely Great Fosters for their spring wedding open day in early March 2013.

I love dressing Great Fosters for a wedding open day – it is my chance to play totally unbound by any pre-agreed designs and experiment with new props,  indulge in all ideas I would love to do more of and generally go totally OTT.  Which on this occasion I really did!  My theme for the Orangery, setting it up for a wedding reception, was Enchanted, and I went full steam ahead with lots of dreamy ivory vintage style props, mixed in a floaty tule canopy, and slightly rustic columns with roses climbing up it.  And of course lots and lots and lots more candlelight.

The amazing lavish table cloth on this table, together with the beautiful chair and table linens on all other tables shown, are all thanks to the very talented Blanca from Host With Style (chair and table covers & linens) who is really pushing the boundaries when it comes to table linens.  Gone are the days of plain white table cloths and simple sashes. If it can be dreamt up, Blanca has already had that dream and turned it into something real   For the other tables, we showcased some of the popular type of designs which tend to look really good at this venue. Our silver and crystal candelabras are always very popular and look so gorgeous. We also created some pretty Martini vase centrepieces which suit the venue very well – a pretty low design in girlie pinks and a tall elegant design in ivory and nude pinks and creams. We also showcased our beautiful new silver vases with a bloomy display of ivory and coral pinks, surrounded by low pretty displays to make it interesting low down on table level, as well as dramatic when you see them from the distance. And finally we have some pretty new props which were dreamt up in a Romeo & Juliet daydreaming moment: our new blossom bird cage trees with lots of romantic candles everywhere proved an instant success and are now in great demand for wedding hire. Especially at this lovely venue they fit right in and are so versatile. They can be used to start and finish the wedding aisle, to place in front of the large fireplace under the minstrel gallery, or 4 of them can be used in front of each of the 4 corner pillars in the Tithe Barn… The possibilities are endless.  We also have blossom light trees, a wishing tree and a pretty post box to hire.
