Beautiful Highclere Castle wedding flowers
Back again for a really gorgeous Highclere Castle wedding, this time for Jessy and Paul’s pretty pastel pink themed wedding flowers. I am finally catching up with sharing our lovely wedding flowers adventures from this very busy summer season, so what better place to start than this lovely Highclere Castle wedding? The return of Downton’s to our TV screens has given me the prompt I needed!
I initially met Jessy and Paul at Highclere last autumn when they came to see us at Highclere Castle, when we were setting up another lovely wedding there. Jessy and Paul loved so much what we did for that wedding that they wanted us to recreate that effect with a more summery and more bloomy mix of wedding flowers, perfect for their August wedding. Jessy would have loved to have paonies in her bouquets, but with paeony season ending very sharply mid July, we recreated that look with gorgously scented O’Hara garden tea roses, which have many many beautiful layers of petals. For Jessy we created a very romantic tear drop bouquet of White O’Hara roses, Avalanche and Sweet Avalanche roses, Talea roses and subtle accents of silvery green eucalyptus. For the 3 bridesmaids, wearing dusty pink, we made up lovely handtied bouquets of the same roses as in Jessy’s bouquet but adding deeper dusky pink Coolwater roses to match their dresses. We added extra spray roses and pretty lisianthus for more texture. The men wore pastel pink Sweet Avalanche roses and rosemary buttonholes, and the mums wore scented lapel corsages of beautiful O’Hara roses, lisianthus and tuberoses.
For the ceremony, we created some amazing grand urn displays to frame the grand fireplace, and dressed the stair ends with waterfall flower displays to define Jessy’s entrance into the ceremony area as she comes down the stairs. Pretty confetti cones of fresh rose petal scatter finished off the list of ceremony flowers.
For the wedding breakfast and reception, we dressed most of the guest tables in the library with romantic candelabra centerpieces of roses, hydrangeas, scented stocks, lisianthus and eucalyptus, and used low silver rose bowl centerpieces on a few of the tables, to create a better layout for impact and visibility towards the top table. The top table was dressed with pretty petal scatter and a waterfall centerpiece in beautiful pastel shades.
The overall look was very very pretty and romantic! If you have enjoyed this real wedding blog, please see more amazing pictures from the whole wedding on the beautiful photography blog by the talented Harley & Susie at Barker Evans Photography. Their work is amazing and showcase our flowers far better than my amateur efforts. The classically beautiful wedding cake was created by The Cake Parlour in Wimbledon.
