Rustic Ivory & Deep Blue wedding flowers at Farnham Castle wedding
While the weather is frosty and wintry, I wanted to share with you these beautiful rustic designs from a recent Farnham Castle wedding, so beautifully captured by LJ Photographics. Navy bridesmaids dresses are such a classic choice and so very popular at the moment, and these understated ivory flowers with subtle splashes of blue – navy thistles, looked fantastic with this theme.
Charlotte and Chris wanted to achieve quite a laid back look for their wedding at Farnham Castle, so throughout, the vibe was informal and natural, not too arranged and stylised. Charlotte opted for a wilder rustic bouquet of roses, white with black centres French anemones, lisianthus and scented stocks, with subtle splashes of navy blue thistles, blue muscari and natural pine cones. Matching posies and bouquets were arranged for her cute flower girls and bridesmaids, all with a good sprinkling of silvery green eucalyptus which looked wintry and wild. The men wore buttonholes of ivory Avalanche roses and blue thistles, and the mums dainty corsages of lisianthus, spray rose and lacey gypsophila.
For their Farnham Castle wedding ceremony, the Lantern Hall was dressed with tall silver vases framing the ceremony table and lining the wedding aisle, all being used again later on to dress the guest table for the wedding breakfast. The tall displays contrasted so nicely with the all white Lantern Hall, and the tall twigs made it look natural and beautifully rustic! Small poses of flowers in cute vintage silver vases, were used to dress the windowsills along the left side of the Lantern Hall, and the ceremony table, and again, these became table centrepieces later on for a few of the guest tables in the Great Hall.
I loved the mix of tall rustic twisted willow twigs, blousy hydrangeas, scented stocks and ivory roses, blossom branches and silvery eucalyptus, with a scattering of navy blue thistles. It looked very pretty and informal and created a really natural look for this Farnham Castle wedding.
The steps up were decorated with lanterns and fairy lights along the balustrade, not so noticeable during the day but creating a lovely effect later on in the evening.
Back in the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast, the top table was styled with the bridal, bridesmaids and flower girls bouquet, placed in vintage silver vases with navy blue ribbons. The mainly tall displays lining the aisle and the low vase displays dressing the ceremony table and windowsills, grouped together, were used to dress the guest tables, and looked great in the Great Hall, again providing much needed contrast with the cream decor of the hall. Fairy lights and candles were used to decorate the bar balustrade and the grand fireplace.
Charlotte and Chris added some beautiful personal touches in the Stone Hall. I especially loved the directions post and the guest comments globe, all witness to Charlotte and Chris’ love for travel.
