Stunning Wedding Flowers at Farnham Castle
I really loved this very wintry wedding at Farnham Castle, on the Surrey Hampshire border. We used a sophisticated combination of ivory wedding flowers with pale champagne gold and frosted silver foliage and natural pine cones. The result was a relaxed yet sumptuous style that suited the venue so well…
For her bouquet, Sarah wanted a bouquet to suit her beautiful dress in champagne gold silk with a vintage lace overlay, so I created a gorgeous tear drop bouquet of roses, scented freesias, ivory lisianthus, gold and silver berried eucalyptus. For her young flowers girls, Sarah opted for pretty lacey gypsophila posies bound with pale champagne gold ribbons. The mens’ buttonholes were Avalanche roses with gold eucalyptus berries and accent foliage.
For the wedding ceremony at Farnham Castle, the guests were welcome by beautifully dressed stairs garlands of roses, gold berried eucalyptus and trailing ivy which looked amazing in the wintry morning sunshine. The ceremony room itself was dressed with pretty chair end posies of gypsophila and gold berried eucalyptus, and the ceremony table was framed by two opulent freestanding candelabra displays of amaryllis, roses, spray roses, berried eucalyptus and pine cones. The 5 windowsills on the left of the ceremony hall, the registrar’s table and the assistant registrar’s table were all dressed with wintry flower wreaths with pillar candles.
Following the ceremony, all the displays were moved through to the great hall for the dinner – the flower wreaths were moved to the base of tall silver French candelabras to decorate the guest tables, and the grand fireplace was styled with a very lavish and very long garland of flowers and mixed metallic berried eucalyptus foliage.
