Having arranged her sister’s wedding just a few months earlier, I was delighted when Fay asked me to also arrange wedding flowers for her own wedding at Wasing Park in Berkshire. Fay and Mark opted for a very pretty colour scheme of dusty lilac and ivory. We combined lilac Memory Lane roses with Pacific Blue roses with pretty ivory flowers including scented dainty wax flowers, hydrangeas, lisianthus and scented stocks.
For Fay and her bridesmaids bouquets, the mix was simpler and more delicate, with a mix of lilac roses and dainty wax flowers. These have a lovely honey scent so I always love using them for scented bouquets. The buttonholes matched the bouquets, with dusky lilac Memory Lane roses and wax flowers, with added sprigs of pretty lavender.
The ceremony in the garden room was dressed with 2 focal urn centrepieces flanking the beautiful oak ceremony table. The table itself was simply decorated with 2 rustic water jugs bursting with flowers, and connected by rose petals scatter and vintage silver mercury glass votives. The aisle was lined with candlelit storm vases on the floor.
For the wedding breakfast in the barn, the guest tables were all dressed with relaxed bouquets in rustic water jugs, with hydrangeas, roses, scented stocks, wax flowers, lisianthus and wild fennel, laced with silvery green eucalyptus. The overall result was really pretty yet laid back and informal, just perfect for the mood that Fay and Mark wanted to create at their wedding.
Special thanks goes to Darren Mathews for sharing his lovely photography with me, his unobtrusive photography style also suited this lovely couple so well!
